So, almost 6 months have passed since the release of the first version of the SIMS Teacher App – available in the first instance for Apple iOS only. All the while, the aim was to make a Teacher App for all the mobile devices – so one for devices running Android, and also one for those running the Windows App framework on Windows 8.1 onwards.

Assessing the new breed of SIMS Assessment Manager

By now, it can’t have escaped your notice that big changes are afoot in the ways schools measure and report progress. The “old” levels system is “out”. For many years, it underpinned the way in which teachers recorded and measured the capabilities of their cohort; as well as provided a way to compare individual and group performance. This system and the national curriculum are changing… radically.

Let Teachers SHINE 2015

UPDATED: SIMS Teacher App – hands on and reviewed…

Many of you may have read my previous articles about the then forthcoming SIMS Teacher App for iOS; well now i’ve been able to get very hands on…literally, with the most recent release – and the one which is now available to all schools. Tablet computers are becoming an increasing part of the modern classroom, expanding SIMS in true tablet App form (beyond the already discussed Remote App) means that, some would say, SIMS is becoming modern.

SIMS in a MultiPlatform world…efficiency, productivity and cost savings for Schools

BETT is now over for another year, the hustle and bustle of a busy ExCel Arena are already just a memory as everyone settles back to their normal work routines.

Now many will have been expecting my first article “post-show” to have been about the launch of the Teacher App. Well…that is coming soon – but first, the new “multi-platform” access to SIMS. There are lots of links between the story of the App and the story of the platform that I’m going to explore here.
